Now-a-days the use of social media is quite common. In this era, the people of every age has entered social platforms they are using it frequently and has become addicted to it the present situation is quite alarming as it not only harms the physical health but it can also leads to mental sickness.

Individuals consider it really vital to upgrade the society about their daily lives as the likes and comments on their posts directly affect the rewarding area of brain that's why gradually they become addict to it as it involves a really important neurotransmitter that leads to pleasure and satisfaction.

ANALYSIS ON EXCESS USAGE ACCORDING TO SCIENTISTS:

According to Harvard university, the notification of like, comment, tweet leads to the release of a special neurotransmitter dopamine that is also called feel good neurotransmitter it is concerned with the feeling of pleasure and it can be any type of pleasure either related to love or sex. This neurotransmitter excites the individual and makes him addict to it. As it becomes an addiction the person feels it necessary to daily upload his/her pictures to gain that award.

IMPACTS ON INDIVIDUAL’S HEALTH:

As we know, excess of everything is bad the same goes for it The extravagant use of social platforms can lead to many disorders but the most highlighted one is” internet addiction disorder” it’s the problematic digital disorder.

Many other mental issues include depression, anxiety, stress, low self esteem and sometimes obesity. When a person becomes socially active he tries to remain more and more in on social platforms and this addiction can lead him/her to face many issues.

The excess use of social areas leads an individual to a mentally torture as he/she begins to do comparison of oneself and ultimately falls to look down upon himself. On social accounts people usually post what’s in front of lens nobody knows the behind scenes. Everyone has flaws but still we compare our offline selves with their online, filtered selves the more a person compares himself ,the more he digs a pit of depression for himself and eventually falls into it. The over screen time can lead to obesity as well because it reduces your interest in physical exercise.

When an individual becomes so much involved in the social accounts he begins to expose himself in order to gain more attention of masses and for attention he can commit many serious crimes that social media promotes GAMBLING,ALCOHOL INTAKING,USE OF DRUGS,CYBERBULLYING and many more. When it comes to cyberbullying the females are more vulnerable to it and it can eventually lead them to take stupid steps like suicide.

Individuals with many followers or friends on social platforms have usually less friends in real life and they end up being depressed and lonely. They ignore their real life relationships, their schools/work ,their physical health and their mental health as well. Mostly adolescents have been more targeted by its excess use as it directly affects their central nervous system that is still developing and growing.

TREATMENT:

If you’re a beginner, you can control it by limiting your use to only 1–2 hours but if you’re already an addict then you can concern a professional for it so that he/she may guide you to a proper path.
